Working with KDE Connect: keyboard macro to send clipboard

KDE Connect is a computer remote control daemon written in C++ and Qt for UNIX, Windows, and Android. Among other things, it lets you send your clipboard to and from connected devices.

Right now, given that the GUI programme is quite crashy, to send the clipboard, I have to invoke the KDE Connect utility from the CLI, which is something I'm used to doing as a UNIX user but is cumbersome. What I'd prefer is to be able to, idk, press the Umbrellix key [see Umbrellix glossary] and the F8 key at the same time, then be able to type some laconic command that would invoke that function.

Menubar collapsing (more for others, than for myself)

A lot of programmes have moved to using a "hamburger menu" rather than a menubar. This is inefficient in terms of mouse use, but saves an entire (text-height) toolbar row, and is thus acceptable for a tablet (where, as an aside, you likely want the menu to be as large as possible, not compact like with a mouse) or a screen with limited vertical space.

Umbrellix graphical programmes requiring a menubar, which our future graphical Mastodon client will, as will our future text editor, will, if using a toolbar, support collapsing the menubar into a menu button, and re-expanding it. The access keys for the menus will continue to work, as will the tearoffs.
